Our Mission is to enable seniors in our community to overcome life's challenges by facilitating their independence and enhancing the quality of their lives, helping them to remain in the comfort of their own homes.
Board Meetings are at 5:30pm every 3rd Monday of each month at the Transportation Department. Contact the COA for an agenda.
The Baker County Council on Aging is a Non-Profit Organization located in Macclenny, Florida that provides a number of services to our community in Baker County.
We provide Senior Services for Seniors 60 years of age and older. We also provide transportation services for Transportation Disadvantaged as well as shuttle services to Duval County and Columbia County. Services provided are not limited to low income residents, there are programs available for everyone.
Funding for our programs is provided by Northeast Florida Area Agency on Aging, Department of Elder Affairs, Florida Department of Transportation, Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged, Jacksonville Transportation Authority, Baker County Board of County Commissioners, City of Macclenny, Unites Way, Fee’s for service, Older America’s Act, Fundraising and Donations. Even with this funding we have to turn away potential clients or place them on a waiting list because there is not enough funding.
Your contributions help provide services such as, hot meals to our aging population. We also provide caretakers with much needed Respite Care. Just like older buildings that we try to preserve, the Seniors are a part of our Heritage. We as a community can pull together to help our most vulnerable citizens live a quality life.
We are here to help Seniors of Baker County overcome life’s challenges by facilitating their independence and enhancing the quality of their lives, helping them remain in the comfort of their own home as long as possible.
We would like to thank you in advance for you support of The Baker County Council on Aging and the services we provide to our community.
